Silver Dollar might be sick:(

may i add, most illness is due to water quality... if it were me id do a water change :D

I was planning on it:)

I just did one and added medication, took all the inverts I could find out.

I don't think it was water quality, at least on my end(I do weekly water changes with vacuuming and my tank is over filtered:)), I got three silver dollars from petsmart to start out with, was planning on getting more. I guess this store has a high mortality rate to say the least, one fish came from the store sick, it wasn't me who got to pick them out:-/ I guess he just spread it to the other one. From what I have read Columnari is pretty contagious, and the symptoms fit my case perfectly so far.

Thank you for the help

Just wondering, I looked at the meds I have, I have coppersafe and Triple Sulfa "Pro Series" by API. Would either of these be ok for treating what is going on? The coppersafe is what I started using today, but I don't want to keep using it if it's not going to help much.

sounds like cotton mouth...but a pic would really help id the issue.

Here's the syntoms/treatment and prevention...hope this help.
Symptoms:
White spots on mouth, edges of scales, and fins
Cottony growth that eats away at the mouth
Fins disintegrate beginning at the edges
'Saddleback' lesion near the dorsal fin
Fungus often invades the affected skin
Rapid gilling in cases where gills are infected

Treatment:
Change water
Vacuum gravel
Add aquarium salt
Treat with copper sulfate or antibiotic
Discontinue carbon filtration during treatment

Prevention:
Quarantine new fish for two weeks
Maintain high water quality
Provide fish with a nutritionally balanced diet
Medicate fish prophylactically before moving them
Disinfect nets and other equipment before using

This I got from http://freshaquarium.about.com/cs/disease/p/columnaris.htm.
But copper sulfate works IMO.

I really wish I could post some pics but I am having a hard time figuring out where my charger went to. And the symptoms seem to fit my case. I'll continue treating with the coppersafe and doing water changes.

If anyone has anymore input it would be greatly appreciated, I want my fish to live!!

I'm battling columnaris at the moment. Lots of oxygen (as shawn keeps drilling into my head lol, hes been an awesome help), aquarium salt, and a columnaris treating med (like marclyn or aquasol). If one of your fish has it, chances are the others do too. By time the symptoms show up its effected the whole tank. Ive learned this the hard way.

Yes I've been using those and google as my diagnosis chart for now until I can figure out where in the world my charger went to. The upper lip on one silver dollar seems to be deteriorating:(

Could epsom salt be used in place of the aquarium salt? Also what is the ratio of salt to gallons? I've been googleing it and have been getting many different answers.

I've been trying to get more oxygen in the tank:) I have the water lowered and air going through the power head, there is a lot of surface agitation going on.

Table salt can be used instead of aquarium salt (which is nothing more than a confidence trick). Epsom salt no.
