my LFS wants 32 for a silver pulsing xenia frag. Is this considered a good price for a large frag the size of both of your thumbs together? I also havent see much of the silver kind, is it kind of rare?

Sounds a little on the high side, but not by much. I got my old Xenia frags (Not silver) for around $20/25, and it was two heads with a little one growing in.

I say if it is rare around you, get it. It will grow like a weed anyways.

Rarity is pretty heavily tied to location. Living in SC, many seldom seen or "rare" corals are pretty easy to find simply by taking a trip down I-95 to northern FL. In any case, silver Xenia is not particularly rare where I live.

The price they are asking doesn't sound bad. I've seen single stalks that weren't all that big or hefty sell for $30 at LFSs around here.
