Hey
I'm really new to this aquarium stuff and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a really simple and easy to take care of 10 gal. tank? what types of fish combinations would go well together? Any specifics? Other necessities?
Thanks for your help.

a betta and three otos.

3 oto's
3 platys

That would make for a good 10 gallon. The oto's are really fragile though you could get 3 dwarf corys instead of the otos

Necessities:

Filtration. There are many good filters out there for a 10 gallon tank. I like the Aqua Clear models, since they provide good media for bacteria, are easy to clean, and reliable.

Heater. This is a requirement for most setups. While many homes stay in the comfort zone, having a heater to keep the temperature stable is needed to reduce stress on the fish. I like the Ebo Jager models, since they are submersible, come in a variety of sizes, and are reliable.

Research. You need to understand the biological processes--in general, at least. Knowing the fish you intend to keep--habits, normal behavior, basic needs.
