I have a Black Sail Cory, and I have recently noticed that he has a single white dot on the very tip of his nose. I don't think it was there before, though I first noticed it a couple weeks ago (and it has not changed at all). No other fish in the tank show any symptoms of fungus or ich whatsoever; should I move him out and try to treat him or just let him be?

For 2 weeks doubt it is ick. Please post a pic. if posible.

This is the best picture I could get.

It is fussy but I would deffently treat it. Use a good multipurpose external parisite treatment maybe "Aquari-sol" "Malachite Green" You may wont to treat your whole tank if you can afford it. (personal preferance) I like to use a tank though. When I quarintine I use medicated foods but thats just me and never heard of others doing it for fish already from there tanks.

This could be but the photo is kinda blary.

Does it look hairy when examened.

Treat just in case better safe then sorry.

It does not look "hairy" or feathery at all. It looks like a solid white bump. I'm somewhat frightened to treat the entire tank, as it is only 3 gallons and it would involve me taking apart the filter media to remove the carbon..

One of my emerald corys had same thing on his snout soon after I put him in the big tank (post qt). At first I freaked and did bacterial treatment for 1.5 weeks; closely watched everybody in case it was ich; nothing else ever showed up so I did melafix for a week. Healed up just fine!!! I hope it's just a boo-boo; it really looks like the one on my guy's snout. :dance2:

Thanks for the advice, everyone. I went ahead and removed my filter media and began Melafix treatment for the entire tank. I'll update with any progress.
