I have a female German Blue Ram. A couple of days ago I realized she wasn't mugging at the front of the tank and I looked around for her. I found her lying on the bottom of the tank. It seemed like she had no bouyancy. She could swim around the bottom of the tank but couldn't go higher up. I caught her in a net and have her in a net breeder thingy up at the top front of the tank so I can keep an eye on her. I put some food in there but she doesn't eat it. I've tried putting gel antibiotic drops in there for her to eat but she ignores them too. She is just laying on the bottom of the net. She is not tilted any way, just not able to swim up off the bottom. Is this something that is treatable or is it just a matter of time now for her?

I have a similar problem with a Bolivian Ram. He or she is shunned by the other two rams which have paired up. Maybe my fish is simply failing to thrive after losing the dominance battle.

Swim bladder disease? If so, I don't think it's treatable, but I may have heard of a cure, don't know though; can anyone confirm/deny this?
what are the parameters of the tank?
please include ammonia, nitrite and nitrate as well as info about the tank (size, temp, pH, tank mates,etc)water change/maintenance schedule..

only thing that comes to mind is swim bladder, and in that case its only a matter of time.

no other Rams, we lost her partner a while ago. I do a 50% water change at least every two weeks and sometimes every week. Nitrites were 0, nitrates were 5, I was surprised to see ammonia at 0.25 so I just did another wc.
