Siphon for Small Tank?

2 parts fish tank water
1 part gin
salt the rim of the glass and garnish with 1/2 a plumb.

Me too. I have swam in lakes and pools that are dirtier, and who hasn't gotten water up their nose or in their mouth before?

I don't use it for drinking water though.

I have drank the water from my tanks syphon a number of times its no worse tasting than creek water

I have gotten fish water in my mouth before too, my 55 Angelfish tank has almost no taste, but some are just plain nasty no matter how clean you keep them... So far I haven't got saltwater in my mouth but that's only a matter of time.

I do what fpsiv does - I just use a simple, cheap turkey baster. Plus it does a great job of sucking up uneaten food (which doesn't happen often with my bettas) between gravel cleanings.

If the water is clean enough for something to live in it than it is clean enough for you to drink it. I wish my pool was as clean as my fish tank.

What is the easiest way to put the water back in the tank?

Right now I siphon the water out and have to lift the 5gal bucket above the tank so it siphons the new treated water back in. I'd hate to dump it and put the fish in a whirlpool .

You can use a pitcher or a large glass. I used to use a glass for my old 5gal, and it worked famously.
