Siphon Recommendations

Aqualung, I would just use the python to syphon and fill another way. A 55 gallon plastic garbage can will hold all the water you need unless you have an extremely large tank.

So try this:

1) Fill the garbage can or other container 24 hours before with the python and set it near your tank. If you use a plastic garbage can, you can roll it too.
2) Siphon the tank with the python.
3) Use the standard syphon to siphon from the garbage can into your tank after the water has set for 24 hours. You will only have to start the siphon once and the garbage can is big enough to work in. In small tanks, it can be hard starting the siphon. Try siphoning a goldfish bowl ;-) I have no idea ho you would get it going ....

75 feet of tubing can be used with the python. I think they sell a section that is 100 feet. The only problem you might run into is where to put your garbage can when its filled with water. Hopefully you can find somewhere to hide it.

I don't see how I could siphon the water back into the tanks unless the holding container was higher than the tank. I don't think it will work without a pump.
