I may be thinking too deeply into this, but does the size of the rock caves matter? I am planning on going with some neolamp brichardi in my 29g.. Should it be enough room for them to swim? or just so they can just sit in there?

Any help would be great =)

Ideally you will have TONS of caves of various sizes stacked the length of the tank and as far up as you can without it becoming unstable. Remember, brichardi form colonies. After several months you will have fish that range in size from adult to newly hatched fry.

On a side note, they can and will overpopulate a tank, begin to mate with thier siblings, and their progeny will mate with each other........ I've seen bags of 50 1in brichardi brought into lfs where over half were severly deformed because the owner did not take the time to cull. If your not up for that, don't do brichardi.
