I'm not happy with the micro bubbles from my Skilter 250 in my 32G tank. While it is doing a good job it is not what I am looking for in the "look" of the tank. Would ideally like no bubbles. Been trying many different things with it since the start of Nov and no success.

Not looking to buy cheap but looking for best value for my money. Not too expensive, but effective as a skimmer.

Going out later today to get a new skimmer, could you please post what NOT to buy for my tank.

I thought to Super Skimmer was Coralife?

The Seaclone 100 gets good grades from my LFS, they use it in everyone of their set-ups and it seems to be quiet and no bubbles.

Of course this topic is likely to have as many oppinions as there are types of polyps in the hobby.

Yeah I botched the name. Sorry. The Coralife super skimmer works good for me. (thats what I have) The Seaclone 100 is horrible. (thats what I was referring to) I tried it out and was horribly dissapointed. There are many many complaints against it.

 seaclone 100 or 150 = awful

i thought i'd be slick and save a few bucks on the clearanced 150 for 65 bucks... that was a waste of cash... it barely pulled any skim... it was noisy, it had lost of bubbles... and then to make it worse, it leaked...

returned it... save yourself the headache and disappointment.

ugh, had one of these, it was junk, had to restart it all teh time, and it just didn't do what i wanted...

Well I have to thank all of you for your quick replies.

The only available skimmers were the Seaclone 100, Coralife Super Skimmer, Skilter 250 and another SKilter just bigger, and the Prizsm. At least that is all I could find in the big box stores and the 2 LFS that deal with marine in this town.

I watch the 10 Seaclones that the one LFS was running and they all seemed to be running well, plenty of dirt in the cup, no bubbles in the tanks (sumps etc) and no leaks that I could see. The noice was hard to judge as it was obviously in a store.

The other LFS was running one Skilter on a smal display and it had bubbles. They were also running Priszm and they just didn't seem as functional in the collection area and they were having problem with one of them when I was there. That helped.

So the final verdict was that I picked up the Seaclone 100 (from the LFS) even if I paid more than from the big box store. I would rather support the small outfit.

It has been running all day and the tank is bubble free and the skimmer is skimming for lack of a better word. Compared to the Skilter I feel like I'm in the library :-)

So far I am 1000% happier than I was when I was running the Skilter. (now listed on a local web classified section for sale cheap).

I would have to say that given my choices and size of tank(32G) I made the correct choice, for now.

Thanks again for your help.
