I need someone to tell or show me how to fit either a seaclone 100 or red Sea Prizm skimmer into this hood. Please this is something I have tried with no success. I am more than willing to cut if need be. I have tried an internal skimmer it doesn't work.

Skimmer

I have these on my other tanks and they work great that is why I want to use one or the other on this tank. Can someone please help

Let's just say that if these particular skimmers work "great", a good skimmer like a euroreef for example would be absolutely mind boggling... nuff' said?

Personally, I would just axe the eclipse hood... Add some power heads (20x turnover or more for a marine) and with the skimmer and live rock you will have all the filtration you need.... The filter pads used (mechanical filtration) need to be cleaned every week as a minimum (not worth it IMO, since it could be made much easier) to avoid them becoming a nitrate factory... and the lighting... well it's pretty much worthless if you want to keep corals, plus due to the way the bulb is positioned, light distribution would be very poor.

And to answer your question... there does not appear to be any possible way to modify the eclipse hood in order to fit in a protein skimmer, short of disabling either the lighting or filtration.

And this is a three gallon tank your talking about right???

Skimmer for eclipse 3

This is for an Eclipse 3 Hood. It filters and lights my 37 gallon aquarium.

Sell your eclipse 3 hood...now.

I think eclipse is the most riped off you can get when it comes to expensive brands.
