You can get at LFS betta bulbs that are the easiest thing to start off with just push them in the gravel and wait no fuss no muss.

I also think that a darker gravel will really bring out sky's blue and make it pop.

You are so right MTS and my boyfriend wants two more ... not that I'm arguing hehe oh and I also thought about darker gravel but the only kind they had was black with purple ... not into the multi colored gravel to much

Nice color. He is a cutie. Like the tank setup too. Like you said draws attention to him not the decor. I think that you got a good idea going with the driftwood for him in that open space. You might want to try something like a Java Fern tied to that driftwood. You got to start somewhere.

Adorable Betta. I totally agree that Bettas make up games for themselves, as mine certainly does.

Sky love loves to play in the current from the power filter. He will swim in front of the current, then let it push him. He also likes to swim back and forth in the current, crossing it. He has a floating flower that he also loves to try to stay under while it is moving, and also likes to peck at it and watch it move.

iam not a fan of fake plants, and iam trying to help you out, real plants will make the tank look natural, so try some java fern and java moss, some foxtails would be nice, your betta would love them too, nice betta though
