small coldwater fish?

So far I'm digging the goby and darters, they look the most interesting. Doesn't seem to be very many colorful coldwater options out there, I wish there were more to choose from!

You'd be surprised how many gorgeous fish actually prefer room temperature water.

In order: Microrasbora erythromicron, Aphyosemion striatum, Chromaphyosemion bitaeniatum, Tanichthys micagemmae, Danio margaritarius.

Those are ALL gorgeous! But whoa the Chromaphyosemion bitaeniatum, Tanichthys micagemmae & Danio margaritarius :jaw: Now that's what I'm talkin about! Gracias :)

I just picked up a half dozen of the micagemmae myself. My understanding is that they prefer it a bit warmer than regular White Clouds, but I guess high 60's is a bit warmer than low 40's! I'm keeping mine at 74.

Mabye 1 Orangespot Sunfish? I'm suprised SubRosa didn't metion them. A 10 could work for life but might wanna get a bit bigger tank as they get older.

I prefer to give fish like Sunfish and Cichlids a bit more room and some conspecifics because I consider them more than just a pretty face because of their interesting behaviours, but a single O ZSpot would be fine I guess!

I don't have a single heater going and i raise a bunch of fish like apistos, rams, discus, etc... it stays about 68 degrees in the fish room, sometimes as low as 65-66. Honestly i think it is a waste of electric.
