Are there any plecos that are small and do not have a heavy bioload? I will soon have a fully stocked tank and would like to seize the opportunity to have a small pleco. I have a good deal of algae on my decor (one of my rock tunnel things is turning green). And they are awesome. Any ideas of one suitable?

i think clown and brisle nose also a lot of the wite colored types stay small zebras$200 i think the panaque genius are small
try otos or siamese alge eaters some barbs eat algee too gouramis too

Most of the fancys stays small. But you gotta be willing to spend 40-70bucks for one. And once in awhile, 200-300+.

There is the Rubberlip/Rubbernose/Bulldog Pleco. They stay about 4 inches and are good algae eaters. Here is a pic of mine.

A bristlenose pleco will usually max out at 4-5 inches. For a pleco that is as small as you are going to get I think.

oto's are only a couple bucks. I have a hillside loach, also known as a stingray pleco, alothough not really a pleco they only get 3 inches or so, a good algae eater.

how much do otocinclus cost?

Well, I got mine from another person on this site for around 2-3 dollars, so probably somewhere around that range. They are awesome little fish, always working. They probably can get in a lot smaller spaces than any pleco and will definitely not hurt live plants.

I was extremely lucky...I got a albino bristle nose pleco for 20$ :)
