small, schooling mid-feeder suggestions for a 10g

hi, all! i'm going to be moving my glows to my mother's new tank, because she says she wants some fish, and she loves glows, and I want to try something new. dont say any sort of live bearer, because I don't wan't a rising population, and don't say my betta will eat most of the young, 'cause he HATES live food, and will not even consider eating them, and don't want cannabalism. and don't say neon tetras, because they are way overdone and boring. anything else, i'm up for. the weirder, the better.

Okay, they are not mid-feeder or schooling fish, but why not shellies for something different?

No idea if they'll get along with the betta or pleco, though. Just a thought. I'd love to have some and I would if I didn't need all my 10g tanks for fry and stuff.

Cherry barbs? Or, Drawf rasboras, if you can find them.

Shelies come from the rift lake of taganyika, and prefer hard water and other different water conditions than the pleco and betta.

Hrm, you seem like the sort of guy that could work with pseudomugil, but I would not put them with betta fish. If you move the betta, think about furcatus or gertrudae. They are very beautiful fish and the gertrudae are like graceful little hummingbirds that never stop moving.

Well, betta actually come from harder water than most keep them in. I'd be more worried about aggression. Wasn't sure about the pleco. Normally I wouldn't even suggest these guys, but fishcatch isn't a newbie and he'd do the research first.

how about the really small species of bows, that get only about 1-2" long, like threadfins and the like? would they work? I haven't much experience with bows, but, hmm... bows need a whole lot of room, don't they? or possibly some pygmy sunfish from the everglades, I hear they do well in tropical aquariums.

No, you cannot put threadfins in a 10g, they get to 3" with the tail, not 2". Min 30g.

Did you even read the post I made earlier? Sheesh! Go read my post and do some research on Psuedomugil furcatus and gertrudae.
