Hey all,

I noticed this morning several small white worms that are crawling on the side of my large catfish. Kind of a thread looking. Let me know how I should treat would be great and can I treat the whole tank. Fish and plants.

Thanks
Amy

Here are a few pics the best I could do...

there are a couple located right in the middle of the photo and not sure if the ones up by the fin are the same or not.

Those look like planaria.

Check around the tank and see if they are on the glass.

Hi

Sorry wasn't around this afternoon. There are a couple that are crawling but I thing there are anchor worms. My tank is pretty clean. Parameters are all good and I vacuum weekly with a 30-40% water change. I don't see any of the worms on the glass.

Thanks for treatment. Also, I have no idea what kind of cat. Here is the front and the tail is like scissored.
He has very long whiskers

They aren't hook worms or anchors.... I had this same type of worm on a german ram once and because I couldn't find much detail on them, the ridding of them was close to impossible... let me see if I can find where the post is that found them... ah found it... what they were finally diagnosed as were round worms. I tried using copper safe on him and it seemed to work for a little bit but ultimately, the worms got him..... it was suggested though that I used Levamisole hydrochloride. I heard that it is what gets them and I wish I had the stuff sooner. However, with this being a catfish, you should look into if using this would cause more harm than good on him.
