Smallest Cichlid?

My Frontosa's LOVE feeder fish & gobble them up as soon as they hit the water & the ones that hit the water moving,...they hunt down.

BUT the weirdest thing is that there is always one feeder fish that they don't eat!! One that they allow to be in the aqaurium with them & to live.

As long as I don't go outta town for more than a day week or so & someone else is feeding them.

Sounds weird but it's true.

I've just had several small fish taht could easily fit into the two pictus' mouth and they have never once even attempted to go after them. At this point, I think I'll risk it.

despite your luck in that regard, it is still in their nature to be predators on smaller prey, which obviously includes smaller tankmates.

^Either way, the Pictus are the long time residents, therefore my favorite fish in the tank. Any fish they eat would be an expensive feeder fish IMO.
