I agree with paul8811.
No less than a 45-55 gallon tank. Those fish get at least 4" a piece if not bigger and as they mature they'll become more territorial. So ample space is needed to reduce any aggression that might start....as well as save you the agony of losing a fish or 2
Good Luck Mocular :)

As far as I know, the Electric Yellow and Mbuna are African Cichlids. I'm not sure about the Powder Blue as I haven't heard of that before. Maybe someone else will be able to tell you. Just make sure you either keep African Cichlids or South American Cichlids. NEVER mix the two different types.

Powder blues stay about 2 inches... and can be in as little as 10 gallons. However, the Electric Yellow Labs (which can be a little aggressive) can reach 5 inches. The golden mbuna is another aggressive fish, which gets to about 4 inches. Basically, you're heading into the direction of a tank that should be set up with typical Lake Malawi conditions.

The p. blue gourami doesn't match well with these fish, in my opinion.

Im going for a Malawi tank I already have lots of rock for caves and such. I know kind of what I want the over all look of the tank to be like. Its hard to find certain specefics on these fish.

will gravel or sand be better?
