Yesterday I bought two snails and today I went to take a picture for identification and they were buried in my eco-complete. They are not MTS and I have never seen a different snail do this before. They are not briggs either, they are small and have yellowish and dark purple/black stripes throughout. Here is a picture of them buried though it is not useful for an ID. Is this bad that they are buried? Thank you.

im no snail expert but yellowish with dark stripes.... could they be Spixis? there are others out there who can give better insight...

I can't tell what I'm looking at, but by your description, I could guess Asolene spixi.

They tend to bury themselves when they are nervous so just make sure your water parameters are good and let them settle in. You will see more of them soon.

I'd get clearer pics. I am not sure what I am seeing either. They could be Asolene spixi as you describe because a lot of apple snails do bury themselves in the substrate partially. You're lucky to get them as they are illegal to ship across other states.:D
