Snail Damage?

Oh my gosh. That's an amazing thing you have done right there for that snail. He's one lucky invert! I didn't know you could patch them...that's really cool. But I would be so scared doing it, go you!

So glad to see he is pulling through! Hope he feels better soon. Keep us posted.

lol thanks but if he was a lucky invert he wouldn't have needed the patching in the first place. And it was scary, I only wish I was more dexterous in the molding.

you did a great job.. I would love to see some more pics in a week or so.. and I really think you should decorate him now lol

hi guys, well it's been a week now and I woke up to quite a pleasant surprise today. Brooklyn is finally consistently up and about. It's the first time I'm seeing him climb on the wall of the breeder trap! I might post pictures later once the lights come on and if he's still scooting about. I don't wanna flip the lights on suddenly and spook him :)

haha msj suggested I use nail polish and to be perfectly honest I considered it for a bit before I decided it would crush me to have Brooklyn survive the patching ordeal only to be accidentally killed from...nail polish. Still...

thanks rach! btw once he graduates from the breeder trap he's being re-christened Adams (just to see how many people can connect it to Patch Adams :D)

And he just dropped to the bottom of the trap with a thud but I realized he sort of has an armored shell now, doesn't he? Nothing serious, though, he got right back up and kept on goin. Little fighter.

Excellent job. Thanks too for providing all the photos for people in case they are ever in a similar situation. This thread will be invaluable and I am so glad its turned out so well!

actually I think Donya's Snail Health article is best for reading about patching. It's what I read, but I can't seem to find it online anywhere and I don't wanna just throw it up without her permission. I'll see if I can contact her for permission.
