Better idea... a slice of zucchini or some romane lettuce will gather almost all snails overnight. Remove in the AM, repeat as needed.
Snail eating loaches &/or puffers are not a good solution based on what I read in your "My tanks" link as they will also eat your ghosties, aren't suited to cold water, (loaches) get big, prefer to be in groups, (puffers) will nip fins of others.

that's a very old thread.. i dont have ghost shrimp anymore. (see the 2nd post in the thread)

Was it the 55 gallons? Loaches do not eat rams. Smaller species such as Botia rostrata, Botia striata, Botia almorhae, Botia kubotai or Botia histronica will be okay. Even smaller species such as Yasuhikotakia sidthimunki and Yasuhikotakia nigrolineatus are even more expensive. They prefer a little more oxygen added in their tank and some gentle currents.

www.loaches.com has tons of useful info on loaches....personally i like yo-yo loaches because they seem to be more active, but you'd have to add at least 3 of them....loaches will not be happy if they are not kept in groups of at least 3..but they are pretty crazy to watch and don't act like any other fish....
Snail control without adding to your bioload is what I think Jm means. A lot of us try not to control problems by adding fish, but by adressing the root of the problems. Too much food avaliable to snails for example. But yeah, you can bait them out and trade them into the lfs.
