Snail hunting for Sounguru

WOW those are nice, great camera you got to take pics of fry that tiny

Lol, yeah, it's nice, I really love it. It was 400 new. It is a Panasonic DCM-FZ20 digital SLR, in case you want to check one out. I did a TON of research before buying it, and I love it.

The more I read these threads, the more I hate USPS for their mess-up.

I think the Bladders are the same species as well, it's amazing how variable they can be, even within our own tanks.

I have a ton of these new snails from bio that are doing great. I am uploading pics as we speak. I will be happy to try and share them with folks as soon as I am sure they are established and recovered from their original journey

The ones in the water look like some kind of sucker. Here in michigan we have whitesucker and redhorses and i am sure a few more don't know the scientific names but cought lots of them before.

Well, I have good news, and bad news. Bad news first: All the snails were DOA. I think they really need to be wet shipped in breather bags, which I don't have. The reason Msjinkzd had survivors is probably due to proximity: she only lives a few hours away from me.
The good news: Fry is still alive! I can't believe it, I figured he would die within a few days. After all, every other one had died at or shortly after their accidental capture. And this guy is TOUGH! He's living in a bucket outside, with no filter. I'm still looking for an uber-cheap air pump that I can hook up to the sponge filter I have. I think I'll also get a couple of anacharis and throw in for him. I fed him tropical fish flakes earlier, since that was all I had. He seems to eat them, but it's really hard to tell since he's so tiny. He swims near the top when I put them in. I bought some goldfish food today, since I figure that would be closer to his true diet since he is a coldwater something.
Last week I was gone, and for complicated reasons I don't really want to go into, he was left to fend for himself, sans food and water changes. He didn't even blink an eye. This guy is tough stuff! Luckily, I'm not taking anymore trips now, so he will recieve plenty of care and water changes.
Now I just need to find a cheap, small tank to keep him in instead of a bucket. I'm hoping for a 5 gallon. I know 10 would be better, but I live with my parents, so this is a complex issue to begin with.
