Need help with Snail ID please (picture included)

I recently noticed a "new" type of snail showing up in my QT tank that only had ramshorns so far.

They look a bit like MTS (i guess) - but i never had any MTS so i am just guessing here. I can also only find pics of adult MTS online - and these are only 6mm (1/4") big so again its hard to say if they look like MTS or not.

Please let me know what you think:

I have searched the web far and wide and only came up with one pic a of a snail like that and unfortunately it was simply labeled aquatic snail..lol...go figure...anyway good luck with your ID. I will keep an eye out...sorry I couldnt help ya. ;)

Well i did some more research on the web and found a few pics that looked similar - and would ID this snail as a pondsnail.
Could anyone confirm this ?

I'd like to know because i am unsure if i want them in my planted tank or not...

I found "Great Pond Snail", "freshwater snail", Lymnaea auricular, and Lymnaeidae. Not sure if the last 2 are the same or not, just helping you out so you can research a bit with the names.

I don't really think its any type of MTS... I'm betting its a type of pond snail w/ cool markings or maybe its just a close cousin. I'm sure that they won't do any harm to any plants. They'll just reproduce like crazy only if there is plently of food/decaying debris for them to eat. They might make a great "janitor"

its just a pond snail... ive selectively bred my normal brown pond snails to have odd colorations and patters before, ive made striped, solid white, and gold, and a few that look almost just like that, from normal brown snails through selective breeding (had too much time and fun with my snail tank over the summer!) i wouldnt mind haveing someone send me new variation like that to reinforce some of the things that ive bred everyonce in a while... too bad u live so far away from me...

roan's statement below makes sense whith what i see because the brown snails are clear, to get the color the shell thikens making it look gold or white...
