Snail Info...

Sounguru

Guru at being an expert
I need to see if I can find the names of these guys from some of my european counter parts....

All pictures are from MIMbon Aquarium page, and can be seen here http://209.85.171.104/translate_c?h...fe=off&usg=ALkJrhhHL3WE9d5V-KTU-XHn-HZmbLvOnQ

Once I find info I will be looking for a supplier of theses to the US...

The first three are Nerites. The first one really looks like it comes from a rock pool or other tidal area.

The last one is Thiara cancellata. Quite common over in Europe I believe. All the while, we're just sitting here with our pond snails and ramshorns.

Pic#1 is Vittina waigiensis aka tire track snail
Pic#2 is Vittina turrita of some island.. I don't know where. It has different morphs per location. AKA turreted nerite
Pic#3 is a Vitta or Clithion genus I believe. I have not seen that morph before so can't give an accurate answer.
Pic#4 is Thiara cancellata aka hair snail. It's hard to get, hard to get specimen quality because the spines will(not if) break off in shipment.
I'm trying to get the first two, but minimum orders are 300 at a time for each species.. I don't have the room for that many and they aren't cheap
