Asolene spixi are illegal to ship across other states.
Incorrect. They are perfectly legal to ship with the proper APHIS permits.

I was not aware they are issuing permits now for shipping restricted species. Any updated notification?

The only snails specifically prohibited from interstate commerce are Achatina fulica, Pomacea canaliculata, and Rumina decollata.

Ahhh... I wish I were a snail...

The only snails specifically prohibited from interstate commerce are Achatina fulica, Pomacea canaliculata, and Rumina decollata.
Where is the link to it, Subrosa? I asked for the link to clarify this issue because to our common knowledge, a lot of apple snails except the Pomacea diffusa are banned from interstate shipping.

Nowhere in these quotes below show Asolene spixi is legal to ship. Take note it is part of the Ampullaridae family. Canas are not the only ones banned from interstate shipping. All others of the Ampullaridae family are banned except the Pomacea diffusa (updated name for Pomacea bridgesii). The use of "e.g." indicated the cana as one of the examples, not specifically the only snail banned.
Snails in the genus Achatina (e.g., Achatina fulica, The Giant African Snail), aquatic snails in the family Ampullaridae (e.g., Pomacea canaliculata, channeled apple snail), and Decollate Snails (Rumina decollata) are specifically prohibited for interstate movement or importation into the United States.

One species complex of the family Ampullaridae, Pomacea bridgesii may receive a permit for interstate movement for sales in the hobby trade because these snails are not known to be agricultural pests. They are primarily algae feeders and sometimes are beneficial for ponds and aquariums.

Spixis are NOT legal to ship. I have had correspondence wiht my local USDA/Aphis rep about this, I have applied for the permits as well. They will not issue permits to ship spixis.
