Snail Poison - Does it kill Snail eggs?

Anyone know. I have all of my plants in a bucket with lots of snail poison. I am in the process of making my aquairium snail free...a difficult process of cleaning everything and taking everything out. Needless to say, I do not want one snail egg to make it through.

All that snail poison won't hurt the plants? I've heard a good solution is to use dilute (1:20) bleach and dip the plants for 15 seconds or so. Am I wrong about this one, or is it for beard algae?

Bleach will work, but for snails the best bet is Alum. You can find it at the grocery store in the spice section, and it isn't as harmful to your plants or fish. Frankly, I'd be scared to put plants in my tank that had soaked in poision.

i personally don't mind some snails. in fact i added Malaysian Trumpet Snails to my tank on purpose because they burrow during the day and keep the sand fluffy. i think snails make a planted tank look natural, like a complete little ecosystem, so long as their population stays in check.

It definately hurts the plants...it nearly kills them, but to me it is worth it not to have the snails. The plants will grow back, I am not worried. I did this before with a 30 gallon, but this is a 125 gallon, and I only want to do this once.

As for the loach, I would, but its a South American set up, so no loaches.

I have added MTS to my tanks in the past and I like them. These are ram horm snails, and the were eating the plants that I would trade to the LFS for credit.

weird. I breed common ramshorns and they're not eating my plants at all. I also have a few in my community tank (I breed them in separate buckets), but no population explosion. Which tells me that they're not being overfed.

I sell Sunset Hygro to my LFS. I used to get about $40 per month in credit. I only had MTS in that aquarium. This one had a few ramhorns, then they exploded and were eating the plants non stop.
