Hello Everyone.

I'm new to this place and have spent the last few days looking around and reading up. There is awesome info here! I, like a lot of you have an affinity for mystery snails... i have a couple of darker colored ones, with what looks like stripes. His shell isn't in the best of shape (he came that way) poor guy. I was wondering what color you'd all call him. Thanks for any input!

Drop the Tums straight. Your other alternative is Caltrate. Both will not hurt anything. I'd use Caltrate for a start. If you get the one with Vitamin D, Vitamin D will help it absorb the calcium effectively and you can proceed to Tums or Caltrate (with no Vitamin D added) although I wouldn't stick with Caltrate (with Vitamin D added) for too long due to possible overdose of Vitamin D which might be fatal to the snail.

I agree with Rach. It's the wild type. Chestnuts do have light foot. Yours has dark foot.

He would benefit from homemade snail jello too. The sticky is at the top of the invert page. Welcome to AC!
