Hello, my question basically is it safe to take snails from my outside pond, and put them in my aquarium for my rope fish and puffer fish? Not to sure if that could have any impact on the tank enviroment. The water is brakish also.

The osmotic shock will likely kill the snails, but since they're food anyway...

There's some limited risk in importing parasites from outside. Why not just pick up a 5g tank and breed feeder snails? Smaller guys like ramshorn snails are dirt cheap and breed fast. All you gotta do is make it nice and dirty (like with food).

I agree. Setting up a snail breeding tank is very easy to do and with lots of food they start to multiply fast. Chances are that the outside snails do have parasites but whether or not they will affect your fish is another story.
