Snail safe and toxic chemicals-Needs updating

Can someone please add more meds to the list? It'd would help a lot and it hasn't been updated lately.

There are conflicting reports about methylene blue and its toxicity. Will have to ask someone if he can spare me more MTS and pouch snails so I'll test it myself in a spare bucket.

Prazi-Pro - reported ill-effects on Planorbids and nerites, but not apple snails
Quick Cure-a combination of malachite green and formalin ; Has been reported to work without issues although malachite green has records for killing snails being the active ingredient.

how about fenbendazole? I have used 0.1 grams per 10 gallons and I've experienced no loss in shrimp or snails, but planaria are dead within 48 hours.

btw I'm surprised to see flubendazole on the toxic list. The article I read on using fenbendazole to rid the tank of hydras and planaria stated that flubendazole should work (though the author was unable to obtain and test it, resorting to fenbendazole instead).

I have seen flubendazole mentioned as a medication against planaria, but it is very difficult to find here in the United States.

Still, it's untested afaik. I'm just wondering.

I looked up two sites about it and one complained her MTS were never seen again after dosing with flubendazole. Better than putting it in safe category though. Maybe you could test this one using MTS and pond snails if you find this med, Pik?

I'd have to try and get my hands on some flubendazole and then figure out the dosage. I'll look into it, but don't hold your breath

Methylene Blue
Captaincaveman9 helped me on this and tried the experiment. He overdosed the pond snails with methylene blue. After 48 hours (I think), the snails are still alive so I guess the methylene blue goes in the safe category unless someone steps up to prove otherwise.

Last I tried with MTS, MTS remained alive but they're nearly indestructible that I did not go for this result as they can lock themselves from the toxins rather easily compared to other species.

Isn't quick cure just Methylene Blue? if so I can vouch that snails will survive the recommended dosage and maybe a little over.

Quick Cure is formalin and malachite green. Could go under "Iffy" category I think as malachite green is one of the active ingredients.
