I have a 10G aquarium that all of my snails go into at night to be fed and given the chance to lay clutches. There is approx 7-8 gallons of water in the tank and snails do put off a lot of slime. I have a emperor 280 on this tank however the slime eats up the media filter pad and clogs the intake valve to where I have to clean it weekly. Even then I empty out LOADS of slime. I know 10Gs is very small for 4 canas, 1 Florida Apple, and 5 mysteries however its proven the easiest way to feed and have the water low enough for clutches to be laid. My question is what can I use to cover the intake valve that will still suck the slime to it for easy removal but not go through the filter itself?
