Snail Slime

I just got 2 snails and the little guys are sliming everything. But they never did this at the store I got them from, only in their tank. What is this slime and why are they doing it? Is that whats making my tank a little bit cloudy? haha >.<

im not sure? i have tons of snails and i dont get any slime or cloudyness. has the tank been cycled?

Yeah It has. They have been active and have been eating just fine too so I dont believe their sick or anything. Can it have anything to do with laying eggs?

Excessive ammounts of slime are NOT a good sign. Neither is a cloudy tank. Are you sure it is properly cycled???? Snails are VERY sensitive to ammonia and nitrites. Test your water for a more accurate picture. In the mean time, do a high volume water change and hope for the best. If you dont, your snails will die.

Well I believe that it was the food I had feed them earlier that made the water a bit cloudy beacuse when I removed the food that they left over it sort of just fell apart and made that smoky-kind of look to it. After a 25% water change last night, today everything seems to be doing great! The water has cleared up a bunch and I haven't seen any slime tracks anywhere.
