Hi all,

I just arrived home from a week long vacation. I was already stressed dreading what my tanks would look like after a 7-day absence. Well, the brigs were all right with large damage on my plants.:perv: I went to look over my canas. I was shocked the babies have lessen in number. It appears some may have failed to survive from inadequate food supply over the week. Some dried up outside the tank. I should have sealed my tank before I went out.:headshake2: The adults were fine though. I requested to get some plants from my pond for the canas to eat. The remaining babies went out and happily ate the plants.

I didn't forget the brig snail eggs I kept in my pocket. I hassled over for my breeding box with damp towels and since some cana eggs haven't hatched yet, I decided to get the box which was used to mail over 40 brigs to me in the early November. Well, lo and behold, I saw a dried lump of paper towel and was suspicious. I opened it and I saw to my shock, a blue brig that was locked inside her shell. I didn't waste time to place her in the tank. After a few minutes, she just poked out her siphon and when I came back from lunch in my grandparents' home, she was already roaming around following a male blue brig.:lipssealedsmilie: The sight of her in the towel for 4-5 weeks added to my stress. I felt guilty about not checking up the package thoroughly last time I got several brigs. It was remarkable how long she had survived without water and now she is happily roaming around. I sent a message to the previous owner apologizing to her one of her snails went through that ordeal. She was just shocked and impressed when I told her about this. I kept feeling guilty over my mistake not to check the box for some missing snails. I originally ordered 40 and this one got stuck in the corner of the box making 41 in number. To be honest, I had been feeling over weeks I somehow feel something else is really missing but I couldn't explain what exactly it is until I discovered the poor snail.

As for the baby brigs, they've reached pea sized now and they bloomed into burgundy, magenta, purple, gold and chestnuts.:) I introduced over 30 new babies with some eggs still developing. There are two more clutches that haven't hatched yet. The new babies appear to be blue and gold but there could be more, who knows. As for the sub-adults, about 4 have reached golfball size.:headbang2:

As for the fish, they're fine as usual happily swimming around. I didn't waste time to start feeding them and they simply click loudly with satisfaction. Water changes will be done tomorrow and on Tuesday as right now, I need to recover from the stress I've gone through since my vacation tour.

Usually the snails will be fine as long as the towel is damp but the towel was almost dried already so I was really shocked to see I missed an extra snail in my package for 4-5 weeks. She is roaming around happily at the moment. I guess she is relieved now but I still feel guilty over her ordeal.

Wow, super survivor snail! Too bad about the canna babies but you still have some (probably too many, LOL).

I hope all your loaches were safe & happy you're back.

They're safe, Nancy. Thanks.:D The loaches are fat and happy as usual.:) The snail seems happily looking for food until now. I guess 4-5 weeks starvation was really too much.:(
