Yesterday my wife told me on the phone that 1 of my daughter's snail was dead. I didn't ask any questions and i said it was sad.

But when i got home i asked my wife what did the snail looked like when she found it.

She tells me it was all the way in it's shell and floating.

I tell her that it probably wasn't dead, and asked her where she put it.

She had put it in the garbage bag 2 hours ago.

I thought to my self it might still be alive.

So we started digging in the trash and emptied the whole bag into another. We finally found the snail. I looked at him, it was still firmly closed. So i just dropped him in my tank.

As it hit the bottom a white fume was coming from the snail.
It looked like the fume was coming from the opening and thru the shell. My other fish smelled it and came to see what was there.
Seems like they were eating the fume that was coming out.

I sat there and stared, after 10 minutes i could see some movement thru the shell. Not sure if it was just the corpse taking some expansion, i didn't shout houray yet.
But after another 5 minutes the snail started to show it's antenna.
It then came out completly and started it's way toward 1 of my plastic logs. It went inside and stayed there.

After a few hours i went back to check on him. He was still in the log, so i thought maybe he was stuck there and didn't know his way out. So i put my hand in the water to try to get him out.
I couldn't move him, so he seemed of glued himself there.
He stayed there untill it was time for me to close all lights.

After 30 minutes of darkness, i went back to check on him.
He wasn't in the log anymore. I searched for him and i found it happilly exploring 1 of my tallest plastic plants.

This morning he was walking on the gravel when i open the lights.
Also, as soon as i open the lights, my clown loaches and balla went to see him, and started picking on him. He then turned arround and headed back in the log.

I can't wait to see him tonight and see how things went for him today, hehe.

He is one lucky snail. So far :)
Btw, it is a apple snail.

i flushed a snail once it was a little bigger than a quarter - i figured it shoulnt efect the pipes i mean we flush bigger stuff than that lol!
