So I brought in my green Kiddie Pool/Pond for the winter today. It's full of algae and I thought, why not put my mix of Snails in there and when summer comes, take it all outside?
Here are a few pix!

Neat!

They polished off the algae from the little bucket in 24hrs, so I'm sure within a week, the pool will be clean of it too. This is where I put any and all snails I find in my other tanks. Killing them would give me nightmares, so this way, we both are happy.

Regarding Bridgesii and whether or not they leave the water... you may not think they're leaving the water- but if they're like mine, they won't leave the water during the day- but as soon as lights are out they start exploring the top and leaving the water.

I frequently find mine on the lid of my aquarium at night but never during the day.

Yours could be leaving the water more than you think whilst you're asleep...

- my theory is they get the midnight munchies and are trying to locate the refridgerator for some cherry pie with cool-whip on top.

Well, congrats, you guys were right. My yellow mystery/apple snail got out, dried itself out. I found it on the floor and tossed it into the pool, but nothing. I think I will keep with the hitch hiking snails instead...
No way to cover the pond, so I can only hope the other two wont wander off..

do snails climb out when theres not a top?

people been saying they do and/or hang out on their lids. Mine did I guess, or it lost grip of my dryer and couldn't get back into the water...
