I have just set up a beautiful small aquarium and today i purchased a snail and an oto for it. (I am putting endler's livebearers in it in a little while.) I just noticed that there are these little like trails of what looks like webbing of some sort and i just have no clue what it could be. Does anyone know what it could be?

Any pictures?

Snails shouln't be so slimy that they secrete so much mucus that it leaves a trail. I had a similar problem once and found out it was because the snail's skin was irritated(in my case by salt for treating ich) and that is what caused the snail to produce so much slime. So I took him out while I finished ich treatment and when the tank returned to normal I put him back in. Since then I have never had a slime problem.

Doesn't sound like snail poop or snail slime. Snails don't leave slime like the average garden snail. Snail poop will not be very noticeable and is similar to fish poop. If you have a pic we might be able to help you out more.
