snails and filter intakes

okay this is odd. I cna only find this product in UK or AU. what's up with that? Why is it not available on any US sites? I'm wondering if this would work about the same:

Not sure it would work, but you can try it. The heater guard makes it easy to attach, comes with suction cups. Not sure how you would attach this. Can't you just go to your LFS?

It is available in Canada, so I don't see why you can't get it in the US.

I'll look. I've jsut never seen it before (never looked though) so I googled it and every site that came up was UK or AU. I looked at my usual sites too. If I can't find it locally I'll ge the one from big Al's.thanks!
