Hi all, I am looking for a couple different kind of FW snails. I would like to get a breeding pair or trio(1 M & 1 - 2F's) of Spixis Snails & also would like to get the same w/ the nerites (1 M & 1 - 2 F's), not olive though. I already have 2 of them. Please let me know, how much for the snails & the shipping. Thanks!!! :)

You are going to have a tough time finding someone to ship the spixis as it is illegal to ship them. I do know someone who will though, if you are interested. I have bought a few from this person who will ship them and they are great snails. If you want the name and email addy of this person PM me and I will gladly give you the info:)

we can't really support the shipping of illegal sales in our classifieds. It would be best to try and find someone locally to sell themt o you. Often fish clubs will have them at auction.

Well thanks all, that's a bummer & can't understand why they're illegal to ship. Ridiculousness, pond snails are the biggest pest there is but they're ok to ship & I understand with the Eco-system stuff but if you spend money on something, why are you going to turn it loose in your water-ways? Darn dumb laws!!!
Still interested in the Nerites though so anyone has any of them please let me know.
Thanks :)

You know if you think about it though ppl do dumb things and then the dumb law enforcers have to make dumb laws. :duh:

To be fair, Marisa-Asolene hybrids are a much bigger threat than pond snails, and are hard to tell apart from pure Spixis.

I guess 1 dumb rear-end does some dumb-crap & we have to pay for their dumb negligence.
Illinois winters are very harsh & I would think that something like the Spixis couldn't survive them but I guess nature will always find a way & I just can't believe that their is anything worse than those darn pond snails. I got a couple hitch hikers w/ a plant purchase from ebay before I joined here & I will never make the mistake of buying any more plants from there. I will just stick to A/C for my plant purchases. Stupid butt me thought ... oh, well they are kinda cool so I kept them & bought a 1.5g tank just for them. LMAO within a month I had that 1.5g full of them. My grandson had an old wading pool out back so I patched it & have put them in there. Every time I go to my pet shop guy, I take him a bag full for his puffers. I'm still finding those little suckers in my tanks once in a while. Grrrrrrrr!!! (Maybe they are crawling through the windows or under the door at night & into my tanks) My guppies, swords, bettas, variatus, & goldfish will eat them when the snails are real small but they breed quicker than they can be ate. I won't even use the same net that is used for the snails for fear of transferring more eggs back into my tanks.
