Its good that you want to do a bit more study on the idea of having a SFE. by most, the most dorcil eel to keep in mind, is the zebra moray. Still the SFE when hungry, will or could take some small fish tank mate, but the zebra still do and will feed on small strips of fresh fish, if offered it. Another item you can add to the SFE, is the stronger fresh squid tubes, they need not to be soft so that the eel could feed on crunchy foods. After all, the eels main diet is crab. But still you can offer as many different types of sea foods.
At most, cleaner shrimps do become a snack, you need to understand that in your home aquarium, your eel aren't facing the same issues as out in the wild, I myself had never used cleaners for my eels. It will however would be needed if your a sick fish, with a skin problem or so. The samething with a UV, all the years as well, I not udes this as well.
