In a 44 gal tank with a 10 gal refugium, any ideas if they would compete for space? I really need the sand stured up better and I want another snowflake my other jumped out the tank

Sorry, this is off-topic, but I had snowflake eels when I was a kid and one of mine, too, jumped out of the tank. It was hours before I noticed him in the cobwebs and dust between the tank and the wall. He made a little mucus nest for himself to keep from drying out. He came back to life when I put him back in the water and was fine. You really have to have a good canopy to keep these guys!
I enjoyed my snowflakes and they are still some of my favorite fish. They used to take food out of my hand, although they'd get excited sometimes and accidentally bite me. Love bites. I don't have a SW tank anymore, but if I did I'd definitely get more snowflakes.

Snowflakes, and most if not all, morays really need good hiding spots. You also have to be careful about compatibility. I found that out the hard way when I put my first one in the tank and he ate one of my fish that very night, right before my eyes! That happened because the fish was a little damsel who was also using the same coral mass (it was huge, about 18" long by 10" wide) to hide in. So if the goby ends up using the same space, it may get taken. I don't know too much about that species, though.

Good luck with your tank!

Since nobody else is replying, I'll just add that habitat complexity will only help. If you have lots of nooks and crannies for the goby and the eels to hide in, they can stay out of each other's way. As for compatibility on those two particular species, I don't know.
