So angry right now

I'd be soooo mad! Bake them some cookies... exlax mixes in well.

That's why I always tell my family members "Im going to do a water change, don't touch the sink at all!" Sorry for your platy loss.

Tell the family members next time, yes, but more important (since they're sure to say they "forgot"), attach a sign to the faucet and maybe put a sturdy bag/s over the handles. If they "forget" and still plow through all the barriers, you have a good case to demand compensation.

Step One: remove fish killer's pillowcase
Step Two: pee on their pillow (if necessary, pee in cup and then transfer to pillow)
Step Three: once pillow is reasonably dry, replace pillowcase.

Bask in the warm light of revenge.

I just don't understand how someone can not notice when the python is right there attached to the sink! how do you not see that the water is flowing into a bright green thing attached to a hose?

May I be the one to call BS?

Why would someone turn off the COLD water and leave the HOT water running? If its filling up the sink per the OPs statement wouldn't they be more inclined to see the hot water is still running and turn it off cutting all water or even to turn the hot off and turn the cold back on.

JMO but I think the OP either didn't take the time to make sure the water was the right temp or misjudged it. I know I have thermometers at the spot I fill up at and even when I think I have the same temp I don't and have to adjust the temp of the water going in.

i wouldn't call BS. i've done the same thing myself. i finish filling up, turn off the faucet, and then a few seconds later i realize the python is still running because i forgot to turn off the hot side.

seeing as how the person in question didn't care enough to let the OP know that the sink was filling up or that he/she was going to mess with the water in the first place, i don't see that they would care enough to make a decision between hot or cold. the only goal was to stop the water dripping/overflowing. it's summertime, you don't need to use much hot water (i don't use any at all), the cold water would have made up much or all of the "excess" that was dripping out of the python-thingy. turn off the cold, water stops dripping enough to let the sink drain, problem solved. the person may not have even noticed the hot water was on.

^ Agree. They'd be paying me real quick...or I'd wash all their fav clothes in scalding hot water and dry them till they shrank down 2 sizes.
