So check this out!

Just tested the water. Here we go:

PH ~ 7.4 - a little surprised as all the tanks normally come in at 7-7.2
NO3 - 40
N02 - 0
NH3 - 0
GH - 5
KH - 5
Temp - 74

I keep the tank topped off so there isn't much surface movement.

Day 7

No sign of little one. :(

It's very disheartening not to find them when you're looking for them, but he's there, somewhere! My pygmaeus fry gave me heart failure all the time, then I would spot him eventually. Same goes for the two otos I have in my discus tank. Last night I did a water change and swore one was gone. I found him today, they are masters at hiding and blending in!

well...three days now and I haven't seen him. starting to worry now.

Booo... so exciting, reading this... can you imagine what tank bred oto's could do for the hobby? A large part of oto fragility is the initial capture.... I hope you find it, and that they do it again... this is making me want to mature a ten gallon algae farm, and have have an oto species tank....

I hope you find him - alive! Regardless, give yourself a big pat on the back for getting them to spawn in the first place....keep up the good work!

Well...I put it off as long as I could but I had to break down and perform my maintenance on the tank. Prunned several plants as well. Was hoping to stir something up but alas....nothing. I think I may have to resign myself to the belief that my little one has left me. <sniff>

There's still the wad of fissidens and subwassertang. Maybe holding out in there.

At very least, I was able to enjoy his company for six days.

life is so wonderful one minute, and so sad the next,.. but hey thats life, right, and the wow one day, is almost worth the tear, the next,..

Very sad! But we do know that tank raised otos are almost non-existent.
