HOWEVER! lol

Okay, by lookin' at my funds and cash availability, I've decided on the following setup...

55 gallon tank
2 x 96 watt Coralife PC's ( one light is actinic )
Seaclone 100 Protein Skimmer
...a few power heads for water movement...

Okay, I know I've only mentioned four things, but from countless hours of reading and what not, I've decided that this is what can fit my limited budget at this time...

Filtration is somewhat confusing to me still... I am gonna stock this bad boy with a hefty ammount of LR, would a large ammount of LR and LS be enough filtration that I wouldn't have to purcahse more electronics...

I've went through many ideas and changed my mind about what type of setup I want I think, about a thousand times over the last week...

sounds good. yup LR and live sand will do most of the filtration for you, but get a good clean up crew for mechanical filtration. i still would suggest going to a 75 instead of a 55 though. its amazing how much extra room there is in a 75.

oh do i ever wish i could support lighting funds for somethin' like that, I'm just so excited with all of this... its a rush indeed!

someone stop my if im wrong, but i feel that the 2x96 watt pc lights should be fine for a 75 gallon. doesnt mean you can keep high light corals, but i think if you could do it in a 55 you should be able to do it in a 75. only the width is different in most models, which will expand the variety of fish you can keep as well.

Like caz said, the LR and LS will do the fitration for you.

The lighting requirements really do depend a lot on the configuration of the tank and what you want to keep. 2X96 won't support the most demanding corals, but will be good for a lot of softies and LPS.
