i use Lee's Limewood diffusers, they make VERY teeny tiny bubbles (and the more junk that grows on the wood, the smaller and more plentiful the bubbles get) .

how long would it take for that to happen?

I use the powered reactor that came with the Red Sea Paintball System.

scrapped my airstones and have a rex style pvc DIY reactor I'm putting together.

I personally use a segment of wooden chopstick stuck into the end of the silicon tube, and I find it makes quite fine bubbles. I then place the output under my filter output so the bubbles get blown across the tank.

I'm reading this for the first time...could u elaborate on this one? never came accross te chopstick method...
