So, I have an Idea...

I currently have 3 tanks between 2 houses. The problem is that I no longer go to the house with the lone tank, but the house I spend most of my time in isn't exactly capable of sustaining another tank at this time. So, my solution is to just merge two of my tanks into 1 tank and hope for the best (ok, not THAT simple, I made sure the fish we compatible). However I am having... worries over it so I figured I'd post the tank stats before and after and see what everyone thinks...

The tank that will be added to and kept is a 75 gallon moderate-to-heavy planted tank with an Eheim classic filter, glass sealed top, 48in and 36in T5HO lighting, sand/gravel substrate, lots of driftwood, and a decent number of rocks (no purple string lol). It contains at this time more guppies then can be counted (long story), a school of 5-6 neon rainbowfish, 3-6 cory cats (can never get them all together for a proper counting :y220d:), 5-6 serpe tetra, a Thomasi pleco, a Golden Dream Killi (female, like 3 in long), and a number of misc fish, and many snails (pests and wanted alike). I would put the total population at around 50 fish total, but most of them are under 1.5 inches long.

The tank that is being shut down is a 30 gallon tall tank that was, at last checking, low-moderate planting with an eheim classic filter (same size/model as the 75), glass sealed top, 24in T5HO Light, sand substrate, large chunk of driftwood. This tank contains 9 Harlequin Rasboras, 4-6 corys, a Thomasi Pleco, some ghost shrimp, and a few snails with a total population of 15-16 fish. None of the fish in this tank are larger then 1.5 inches except the pleco I think.

Both tanks have all stats I check for (the basic 4, Nitrate, Nitrite, Ammonia, ph) well within acceptable limits. All fish in both tanks at last checking were/are healthy, all plants as well. All equipment functional too.

I want to merge these tanks into the 75 gallon, which would get all of the equipment, fish, decor, plants, and inverts that both tanks have at this time (except the light, that will be put in storage I think). So, what do the people of Aquaria Central think of my plan? I just want some feedback on stocking, if the plecos will get along, if the schools of fish will get along, ext.

Those are all pretty standard "community fish" so I doubt there would be issues in terms of temperament. I've heard some golden killies may go after fish as they are piscivores with large mouths, but yours may be ok as it's already with some smaller fish. Keep an eye on that though.

Numbers may be an issue if you already have that many fish in the 75...perhaps thinning down that guppy population would be the best course of action first.

I've never kept bulldogs/rubberlips though so no idea on whether they are ok together, but given the footprint I would think they would be fine.

I rather think/hope it's been taking out some of the baby guppies, so I'll keep an eye on the killi haha. Fat Mamma is now on Fish-Eating-Alert (FEA) :P

As for the numbers and thinning out those guppies I'll probably find a LFS that can take em - if there are none then perhaps I'll look into predatory fish for 40 gallon tanks and use the guppies as feeders.

Ok, cool to know about the plecos (I've never tried to put two in the same tank haha). Thanks for confirming my thoughts on comparability, I try to stick with fairly easygoing fish (no cichlids here haha).

Thanks for the reply Pappy :)
