So i just got a new 40 gallon fish tank that needs to be setup .....I'm thinking about going all planted Except for like 1/4 of it ...I'm open to any suggestion's ....I'm going to house 4 angels and 6 silver dollars..... :) I will Post pics soon ...

no way man. take a trip over to google - angels, aside from being increasingly aggressive and territorial as they age, will get larger in body size than the palm of your hand (plus fins). silver dollars are the same - anywhere from 4-6 inches or more depending upon the species. think at least a 75g for that combination of fish.

:iagree:

The 40g is too small for the fish you mentioned, especially those silver dollars. Also, silver dollars are little piscine lawnmowers: they'll eat most every plant you put in that tank.

I'll be putting up a tank of similar size, soon. I'd suggest looking at gouramis, rasboras, and small loaches. Or, from South America, a school or two of tetras, plus a pair of apistos and some cories would be neat.

you're right ^ i totally missed the silver dollars/plants combo. they really love plants. . . . in their fat little bellies.

Ty very much for the advice ..but i have 2 option's I have my 90 gallon but also a new 40 gallon like i have mentioned early oh and length i'm not worried about b/c is a 40 gallon long.I have 6 tanks up an running and 1 to set up so i' m not new too fish keeping .. i was just seeing if that combo of fish would be possible work..but ty again :) i appreciate it

Drop the SD's and it could work, as long as there aren't any pairs forming.

I have 2 marble angels 1 White platinum and 1 gold/silver
