All I can say is ****! because I dont mind moving but I cant take my corals or fish with me.

that means I have to sell them and keep everything else for the move and new set up.

IS there any way around this? I was thinking of having a LFS keep my corals and fish for me and consignment sell the corals....

When ready have them ship them to me (whats left)..

yah think that would be an idea worth exploring or just sell them and start over?

Im not terribly attatched to them but I dont want to pay for stuff I already have....nor do i know the price of this stuff in the new area i may move to.

Dont know the area but its Reno, Tucson, or Las Vegas...

That means I have to buy a chiller now! bah

Ewww... those 3 places are not places I would want to live (again). I did live in Reno for over a year and really hated it. Dirty run down town. Tuscon, lived there as well on the Air Force Base.. it is a desert without question and gets very HOT (and known to snow there/close by in the winters). Reno would be the only place you may be able to do without a chiller. Never lived in Vegas.. but I stay far away from that place. Not into gambling or alcohol and plenty of nice looking girls in Cali so for me no desire to visit Vegas.

Don't you know anyone locally that could hold your corals for a while and then have them shipped to you overnight when your ready to setup? Probably be cheaper than rebuying corals.

Toe, I dont have SW experience, but I will be at my place for another year. (just renewed the lease) so I could watch the fishes in a stable environment for that long. My neighbor has a SW tank and with aquaria and LFS I'm sure I'd be able to handle it. Why not ask the clubs you were telling me about to keep the livestock?

Reno is not that bad at all! Great golf, close(ish) to Lake Tahoe and there is plenty to do there (that being said I have never lived there and it doesn't sound like you have a choice. Hopefully this turns out to be a blessing in disguise for you!

Don't let Reno fool you. It's high desert and get very hot in the summer time and snows in the winter. Lake Tahoe is close as is Donner Lake. It can be 110* and when you hit that water, you'll learn to walk on it, if you know what I mean.

Pick Reno though, I could run up the hill from Sacramento and visit. Tucson is hot in the summer time and mild in the winter. Las Vegas, all I know about it is from driving through as fast as I could go. I'm not big on gambling either.

ToeJam; Tacoma/Seattle,WA has to have a huge aquarium club/group! What else is one to do there while hiding in the winter and waiting for Mt Adams to take everything out the rest of the time. LoL.

Hook up with that group and you can probably pull the whole thing off in a friendly group situation loan out your corals, get them back or frags of them later.

If you don't know about them already take to the people at http://www.bluesierraexotics.com/store.htm I don't have any SW exp, but I've used them for FW almost sense I started and are helping me with SW. They haven't steered my wrong yet. As for holding them...well I don't know, but it's another option.

Beyond that...if it's not for awhile I may be interested in picking up some live rock :P

I live in Reno currently, move here last year. So far, I love it here. Love Tahoe, love the people, and the south end of town is brand new and very nice.

Problem is, the one aquarium in town closed down a few weeks ago :( Not sure what I am going to do at this point. Though I heard there is one in Carson City, I haven't checked it out yet.

Well I did consider having some folks watch over my corals I doubt they have the space to house this much stuff.

I am better off asking my LFS I think but im not fond of this idea...

Ill just have to wait and see how things turn out after details of this move come into play.

May just have to start over.

So, do you know where you are moving to yet? Maybe there's someone there that could take in your corals/critters and hold them for you until you get the tank back up and running.
