I have a 30 gallon RAM tank that I wanted to livin up a little bit. I have 3 RAMS and 2 Killifish. The RAMS spend most of their time hidden in the foliage and the Golden Wonder Killifish spend most of their time at the top. So I bought a school of 6 neon tetras to keep the middle busy and for some color.

My daughter comes screaming into my bedroom that my killifish are eating my neon tetras. Sure enough I go in there and in the killis mouth is a neon tetra squirming to get out. I NEVER thought in a million years that my killifish would eat my tetras.

I had to catch them all and move them into my 20 gallon tropical tank to join a school of their fellow neon tetras.

I guess the moral of the story is think twice and three times before you buy fish.

bigger fishy eat smaller fish. It's just what they do.

Sorry for your loss. Glad to hear you had a place to move the rest.

And thus we have today's lesson in basic biology and ecology.

Don't worry about the size of the fish so much, just understand that very, very few fish will fail to swallow another fish they can take whole. All you really need to worry about is making sure the smallest fish can in no possible way fit into the largest mouth. And fishes' mouths can be bigger than they look!
