I am presently doing water changes about twice a week - the nitrate was really high when I first came on to ask about the bloated fish and I realized I had let that go too long! I got it down to 5-10 and change the water twice a week to keep it there. I am going to try to cut back the light from 6-8 hours to about 3-4 and see if that helps. Thanks for all the advice! I'll have to check out those loaches. I didn't know they were algae eaters!
