The site was hacked.
We took the site down.
And loaded the latest version of vB.

Who knows why anyone would hack an aquarium fish board. I guess some people just dont have anything better to do. As far as knowing who did it goes, Not going to worry about it at this time. We all have better things to do. Besides, we have been wanting to upgrade the software for awhile anyway.
In short, I guess I should be thanking the hacker for allowing us the oportunity to upgrade our software.

AC was hacked for the same reason that there are creeps in the ‘real world’, or Internet stalkers online for that matter – they are low life’s who want others to feel just as bad as they do everyday. Sad … no, pathetic really. These people obviously never got any attention as a child, or maybe they were such a freak as a kid that nobody wanted them… Whatever the reason, they are people whom nobody wants and whom society as written off as a loser, at home with his computer – and only his computer.

Maybe you should do some research and reading on hackers. They are actually quite elite in what they do. Most hackers have a very good knolledge on computers and computer languages that will make most programers look like they just got out of kindergarten. I have a very high respect for what they know. I dont have any idea where you come up with stuff about childhoods but I would say that you are way off base on that one.

... I never said they were stupid or uneducated... but being smart doesn't give you a "get out of being a loser" card. To add a twist to that, I do not think being a loser means you are dumb. I just think it is a shame that they apply their knowledge in the wrong places.
And I will stick by the fact that I think they are a freak, sitting at home with nothing but their computer. I haven't done scientific research, but I'd say that respectable people do not bust aquatic fish forum sites for 'fun'. It isn't like someone is busting into a corporation or big-time company. To me (and maybe only to me), that says that whoever did this made it personal.

PS: the only thing I will take back is the part of them being a low life (which implies only scum in society). Many times these folk do hold respectable jobs, however a respectable job doesn't equal a respected person... at the office and/or home life.
