Sorry if this has been on here recently, if so I missed it! I know it seems to me like alot of us make a living tending to our tanks :thud: , but I just wondered what everyone does for a living? Just curious!
I currently am a graduate student at the University of Michigan. I used to work at a bank, but I got tired of being yelled at by the irate customers everyday :rant2: , so I am working at a crappy PT job in a warehouse kind of place. My husband is the one with the real job, hes an engineer, so needless to say he is the one who pays for my new hobby :dive2: !!

I work as a freelancer on college and university campuses. My job is to attend classes or meetings and translate the spoken word into print (a lot like real time captioning), using a laptop computer. I actually began training to become an interpreter a few years ago, but left my program halfway through to pursue this career instead. As a result of my two years of college, I'm fairly fluent in American sign language, which comes in handy as many of my clients are deaf. I also work with people who are hard of hearing, have learning challenges, or for any other reason have a need to access information in print form as it is being presented. It's a difficult job, but I love it :)

I'm currently a SAHM (stay at home mom) who volunteers at school quite a bit. Previous to having kids, I was a graphic designer, and will likely do that work from home when my kids are all finally in school. My kids are 7, 5 and 2.5 years old, so I have a bit of time yet before I get back to full time, non-family related work.

Pneumatic repair tech...

If it runs on air, and breaks...I fix it...

Registered Nurse. I currently work in an outpatient surgery center assisting with colonoscopies & EGDs (upper endoscopies). I love this job. For me it beats working in the hospital setting hands down. No more call, nights, weekends or holidays. :D Hello to the fellow nurses on the board :hi:

I do tech support on mailing machine, folding/inserting machine and some computer stuff. :dance2:

Sr. programmer analyst and DB administrator. I work full time and also do consulting work in my spare time. Which really means I have very little spare time.
