so who else is an artist?

Once upon a time, Growing up my teachers believed I was gifted and I would be the next Picasso, Rembrandt.

I've had my art in my school news letters, School murals, Was taken out of classes just to polish my art skills and won a competition to be able to paint a mural to be displayed in the window of Eaton centre (Toronto) and was paid by my elementary school to attend an Art school.

Life goes on to high school I go.., Getting praised by my art teachers and getting 100% on my report cards until I hit grade 11. The teacher did not believe I had it because I did not follow her ways of what good art is suppose to be, Look like. So, Of course I ended up failing the class and then finding out My grade 10 Art teacher that was helping me with my Portfolio and Recommendation Letter to an art school had passed away.

Don't let one persons judgment of your art.. influence it.

I say if you have a spark of talent..work it for all it's worth.

wow, what a great thread. I am an artist too. Just graduated from Florida State University with my Bachelors of Fine Art in graphic design w/a art history minor. Currently a grad student at Academy of art. Im an in the animation/visual effects department.

I do portraits at the local market, and also face paint. I have never had a better job than face painting. It's awesome, I always have lines of kids waiting when I go to the flea market.

I enjoy making pictures move, dont know what that is called yet but we'll call it animation for now, but its a lot of fun.

I don't think it's such that one person influenced their art...

It's that one person can completely derail your career path out of spite!

Well I can't draw or anything. I don't know if it counts... but I write I've had a short story published in a magazine and a few online. I've also written a couple full length novels and I'm trying to publish one of them I don't think anything is as humbling. I really enjoyed all of your art!
